If you are having a problem activating your SoftRAID license, there are four likely causes. Find the one that matches your situation below.
Cause 1: No Internet Connection
Activation requires an active Internet connection.
Solution: Confirm that your Mac is connected to the Internet before attempting to activate, then try again.
Cause 2: Internet Proxy (Business Networks)
If you are on a business network, your Internet connection may route through a proxy server. The activation process needs to know your proxy settings to communicate with the activation server.
Solution: Contact your system administrator to obtain your proxy information, then enter it in the activation dialog before trying again.
Cause 3: Maximum Computers Reached
Your license allows activation on a specific number of computers (typically one). If that number has already been reached, activation on an additional computer will fail.
Solution: Deactivate an existing installation to free up a seat on the License Management page.
If you need to use SoftRAID on additional computers, you can purchase additional seats.
Cause 4: Significant Hardware Change
On Windows computers, if you have replaced several hardware components in your computer — such as the logic board, storage, or other major components — the activation system may treat it as a new computer, even though it is the same machine.
Solution: Contact support and explain what hardware has changed. Provide your product serial number and our support team will work with you to get your license reactivated on the updated hardware.
Once a support representative responds to your case, you can provide any additional details they request.
