SoftRAID Premium and SoftRAID Standard are the same application — there is only one download. What determines which version you have is the license you enter (or don’t enter) after installation.

How the Trial, Standard, and Premium Licenses Work

When you first launch SoftRAID, it runs in 30-day trial mode. During the trial, every Premium feature is available with no restrictions. This is the ideal time to set up your volumes, certify your drives, and configure your storage exactly the way you want it.

SoftRAID Premium is an annual subscription. Purchasing Premium keeps all features active after the 30-day trial ends.

SoftRAID Standard is a free, perpetual license. It does not expire, and updates are always free. However, Standard has limited features. Once you enter a Standard serial number, most features are disabled immediately — including creating or deleting volumes, SMART monitoring, email notifications, and access to Premium technical support.

Our recommendation: If you plan to use SoftRAID Standard, complete your entire setup — create your volumes, certify your drives, and configure everything — before entering your Standard serial number. Once Standard is activated, you will not be able to make changes to your volume configuration without upgrading to Premium.

What SoftRAID Standard Supports

SoftRAID Standard allows you to:

• Launch SoftRAID to manually inspect your volumes and drives
• Initialize a disk (Disk menu → Initialize)
• Add a disk to a volume (Volume menu → Add Disk)
• Remove a disk from a volume (Volume menu → Remove Disk)

Most other features require a Premium subscription.
