Yes, email notifications are available in SoftRAID Premium for both Mac and Windows. You can configure SoftRAID to send email alerts when drive errors occur; volumes need attention, or RAID rebuilds complete.
To set up email notifications, go to SoftRAID Preferences and enter your SMTP server settings. SoftRAID supports standard email providers like Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, and custom SMTP servers. For accounts that require app-specific passwords (like Gmail), you’ll need to generate one from your email provider’s security settings.
Note: SoftRAID uses implicit TLS/SSL encryption and does not support STARTTLS. If your email provider requires STARTTLS (common on port 587), you’ll need to use port 465 with TLS or SSL instead. We provide preset configurations for most popular email providers to simplify setup.
If you encounter issues with email notifications, check your SMTP server settings, ensure your password is correct (use an app-specific password if required), and verify that your email provider supports the connection method SoftRAID uses.
