Can I use SoftRAID on multiple Macs with one license?

A single SoftRAID Premium license covers one computer. If you want full Premium features on more than one Mac or Windows computer simultaneously, you will need an additional seat for each computer.

Additional seats are available at a discount.

Using SoftRAID on a Second Mac Temporarily

If you only need to connect your enclosure to another Mac occasionally — such as to copy files — no license or installation is required at all on macOS. SoftRAID volumes will mount automatically on any Mac. See: Do I need SoftRAID installed to read my volumes on another Mac?

If you want to temporarily manage your volumes on a second Mac (not just read them), you can deactivate your license on your primary Mac, activate it on the second Mac, then switch back when done. You can deactivate from within SoftRAID (SoftRAID menu → Deactivate SoftRAID License) or remotely via the License Management page.

SoftRAID Standard on a Second Mac

If you only need basic disk management on a second Mac — such as the ability to add or remove a disk from a volume — you can install the free SoftRAID Standard license on that machine. Standard does not require a paid seat and covers basic volume management, though it does not include SMART monitoring, email notifications, or Premium technical support.
